Men's Canada West W.M. Moorby 2831 Insulated Leather Boot

Absolutely great boot and workmanship here so far has kept my feet warm at -10, we’ll see how it holds up at -20 later in the winter, but I imagine it’ll be a cinch. Herbert’s also send this boot ridiculously quickly, and when I buy Canada West boots again I’ll be buying from them if at all possible. From Red Wing to Danner, from Timberland to Velasca I have always used a size 42EU 9US 27CM, and they have all fit, and they have all been a bit snug in the footbed as I have wide feet, luckily leather expands and I have walked this in always. I found a Canada West size guide that showed CM and EU sizing, which both fell under a size 9 being 42EU 27cm. Now the width of this boot is spot on for my feet, but somehow the length is quite a bit off, so I put on my conspiracy hat on and measured the length and compared it to my other boots that were size 9 being 42EU 27cm and it was longer. Further, the length of the footbed is probably somewhere around 28.5cm a little hard to get the accurate measuring here. Normally I’d probably send the boot back for a half or a full size smaller, but as a European customer, the idea of returning products for a different product is generally a no go- with the high shipping and taxation cost. I do love the craftsmanship though so I might just buy a full size, or half a size smaller in the future. The boot is still very useable, but there is a bit of slipping inside the shoes with regular socks. However, for future buyers, especially ones from outside of Canada, beware of sizing here.
